ADVANCED INFORMATION ABOUT 2010 NOEAFT FISHING TOURNAMENT
Grand Isle has many Hotels, Motels. Camps for Rent, Bed and Breakfast, Camp Grounds and other places to stay. Due to Grand Isle being a popular tourist location, early reservations are recommended. Some popular locations require 2 or 3 night minimums. Please visit the Grand Isle Tourist Commission web-site for a complete listing of places to stay and other important information. Registration procedure:
Sanddollar Marina - The registration table will be under the covered area. Pre-registration is required to avoid the registration penalty. A $ 10.00 late charge will be added to the normal registration fee. Pre-registration dead line is May 28, 2010. When you check-in at the marina you will receive your souvenir Rodeo cap, if available. You may also pick up your shirts that you may have ordered in advance. Extra shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Cypress Cove Marina - Pre-registration is recommended. However, someone will be on location for last minute changes or additions. Rodeo caps will be available for pre-registered participants. Shirt redemption either before or after the Fishing Tournament
Door Prizes:
Once you check in at the registration table, your name will be entered in the drawing for the many door prizes that will be given away on Friday and Saturday afternoon, after the scales close. You MUST be present to receive a door prize. Names will be called three times and if that person is not present, another name will be called. You must check-in at the registration table at the Sanddollar Marina to be eligible for door prizes.
Fish Weigh-in:
Fish will be weighed only when the Weigh Master is present. Only legal fish are eligible for the weigh-in. Please check the current State of Louisiana Rules & Regulations for type, quantity and size of fish to be caught. The scale in Grand Isle will close on Friday at 7:00 PM and on Saturday at 6:00 PM. Sharp. The scale in Venice will close 1 hour earlier on Saturday (5:00PM) NO EXCEPTIONS. Don't forget to make sure that you have a current Louisiana Fishing License and obey the current fishing regulations.
Closing:
As you are aware . . . the Committee does a lot year round for all to enjoy the Fishing Tournament each year. After two and a half days of work and fun the Committee and those willing to help are ready to go home to relax. The extra help will make it easier on everyone. Your assistance is greatly appreciated in helping to clean up the area. Please assist the Committee with the clean up and the loading of the tables, chairs and other equipment on the truck.
Thursday Afternoon:
As in the past, The Committee has provided food and beverage on Thursday afternoon for the people that arrive to Grand Isle early. The menu this year will be boiled shrimp and Jambalaya. There is a limited supply available based on a first come first served basis. Food will be served after 6:00 PM. Registration will also be available at that time.
New Leeville Toll Bridge/Road:
A new Toll Road was built between Golden Meadows and Port Fourchon that replaces Hwy 1. You are now required to pay a toll before entering the highway. The transportation department will also give motorists a 48-hour grace period after using the bridge to pay tolls. After that, violators will be mailed a $25 fine that, if unpaid, will increase each month to a maximum of $65. There are about 5 locations to purchase a Toll Tag or you can go to www.geauxpass.com and purchase or for additional information.
